Over 60 children call Casa Shalom (House of Peace) home. They come from various parts of this Central American country, one of the poorest nations in the Western hemisphere. These children have been abandoned by their parents, removed by the government or brought to the home by law enforcement officials. Many of these children have been abused and neglected. Most are malnourished and have serious health issues.most have never been to school when they come to Casa Shalom.
But Casa Shalom is a place of love and refuge for these children. Since 1986, the caring and qualified leaders of Casa Shalom have nurtured, fed, clothed and educated these children. Their medical and psychological needs are addressed. These children find hope and healing for a better future.
